Repair technician working on an acoustic guitar at Utah Valley Guitar Repair in Orem, Utah

Software built
at the bench.

Ticket intake, appointments, payments, and service reminders — for guitar and instrument repair shops. From $4.99/month.

No setup fees. No charge until after your first month.

We built this for our own shop.
We still use it every day.

FretWork started because every generic shop management tool we tried was built for phone repair or HVAC. None of them understood what a repair ticket looks like when two guitars, a bass, and a banjo come in under the same customer name. So we built something that does.

Drop-off intake that takes two minutes

Customer name, phone, email. One or more instruments — each with its own services, notes, and condition record. Customer signature captured on screen. A ticket number assigned instantly. The customer gets a confirmation email with a link to their live status page before they leave the counter.

Every job tracked, start to finish

Assign individual instruments to specific technicians — one ticket, multiple guitars, different hands. Customers check their own status online. You mark a job ready, they get an email. No phone calls. No sticky notes. No whiteboard that everyone misreads.

Built by the people who use it. Supported by the same people.

FretWork is built by a team with 40+ combined years on the repair bench. When you email support, you hear back from someone who has done a neck reset, not someone reading a script. Every feature gets pressure-tested in an active shop before it ships.

Common questions

What is FretWork?

FretWork is guitar and instrument repair shop management software. It handles ticket intake, online appointment booking with deposit collection, Square and Stripe payments, technician assignment, customer email notifications, service reminders, repair status tracking, and revenue reporting.

Does it work for violin, brass, and band instrument repair shops?

Yes. FretWork supports any instrument type — guitars, basses, violins, cellos, trumpets, saxophones, and more. Instrument types are fully customizable per shop.

Can customers pay their invoice online?

Yes. Connect Stripe or Square and customers receive a payment link by email. They can also view their repair status and pay through a unique status page URL for their ticket. In-person via M2 reader or Tap to Pay also supported.

Does FretWork support multiple technicians?

Yes, and all plans include unlimited technicians. You can assign different technicians to different instruments within the same ticket — one repair visit, two guitars, two people, tracked separately.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial. No charge until after your first month. No setup fees, no credit card required to start.

How is pricing calculated?

By instruments serviced per month, not by seats or features. The Starter plan covers up to 10 instruments at $4.99/mo — add more at $1.25 each. Every feature is available on every plan.
